While I was enjoying some time with my family over the Spring/Easter break, the dork world did not stop spinning. One of the things that dropped was the trailer for Lego Batman: The Movie. When word of this flick came out a while ago I have to be honest and say I didn’t think much of it. I loved the Lego Movie and it’s kinda twisty, meta ending really synched it for me. I didn’t think this movie would have the same emotional core and it might not but who cares this movie looks funny as hell. And it looks to not pull any punches on us dorks, geeks, and nerds who love Batman. After the weekend of hate DC received, they need this movie…and we do too, the dork collective.
Then…a second trailer!!
The movie features the voice talent of Will Arnett as Batman, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, and Mariah Carey as Mayor Marion Grange. The film is being directed by Chris McKay and is set to be released on February 10th, 2017.
My son and I enjoyed the Lego movie and we are very much looking forward to this.
