DOCTOR STRANGE Trailer has Materialized

Long ago, in a wild and wacky time called the seventies, there once was a movie called ‘Doctor Strange’. Now in this tumultuous and hedonistic world there were constants that strung the universe together. Disco, bell bottoms, and the fact Marvel couldn’t make a good movie. This was the Doctor Strange the world was subjected too, and until NOW, the only one committed to celluloid, porn ‘stach and all. This was the abomination I had to watch along with the 70’s versions of Captain America, Spiderman, and the Hulk when it came to live action Marvel Super Heroes of that era.

Now, it’s the far flung future and the world is upside down from the “stone age” of the 1970’s. Disco is gone, pants are now skinny, and Marvel rules the box office. Here is OUR Doctor Strange…

As with all the Marvel Comics corner stones, I love (outta respect) all of the original Marvel Heroes and Villains. Doctor Strange is one of those characters that ironically I love and I own a bunch of issues and toys of but at its core don’t know the ins-and-outs of. I am SUPER psyched for this flick and (unlike DC) know it’ll be a great, fun movie.

This week on Jimmy Kimmel has been a week chock full of Marvel goodness. Last night the first trailer for ‘Doctor Strange’ was shown. I, being old with two very young children, was way, way, way asleep by the time this aired last night, so I got a great treat when I sat down at the computer this morning.

Now the trailer gives us a good glimpse at the dastardly surgeon Stephen used to be interwoven with his pilgrimage to find himself. We also get to see Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and Mads Mikkelsen as whoever-the-heck-he-is. We also (I think) get a split second look at Rachel McAdams when we get the POV from the stretcher. I really dig the ‘Inception’ like warping of the world and the beginning imagery of Stephen in the car wreck in the water look imaginative. Can’t wait to see it there will be magical monsters and stuff.

Now another movie to look forward too this November!!!!!!!!

  1. Admittedly I have never been a Dr Strange fan not that I didn’t like him it was more of economic issue when it came to buying comics. But the movie looks great and again excellent casting decisions made. Disney will continue to fleece my wallet for the foreseeable future.
