This is another movie that speaks to me. A young kid encountering monsters and spooky stuff. Add a scary sounding Liam Neeson and the newest addition to the Star Wars mythos,  Felicity Jones and you have a recipe for a great flick. The movie is based on the novel of the same name written by Patrick Ness, who also wrote the screenplay.

The story is about a 13 year old boy named Conor  who is dealing with his mother’s terminal cancer and bullying at school. After many months of nightmares, Conor is visited at 12:07 by a tree creature. The creature visits Conor to tell him 3 stories in exchange for Conor telling the creature one. Sounds like a great ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ type tale which I’m sure will be ripe with emotion and fantasy.

Here’s the trailer from Fandango.

The movie stars Lewis MacDougall as Conor, Liam Neeson, Felicity Jones,Toby Kebbell, Sigourney Weaver, and Geraldine Chaplin. It hits theaters October 14th, 2016, just in time for Halloween.
