First Trailer for THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

Sony Pictures and MGM have released the first trailer for the remake of the 1960 Western “The Magnificent Seven”. Which in turn is a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic “Seven Samurai” and has spawned more adaptations than can be counted (“Samurai 7” & “Battle Beyond the Stars” being my favorites)

The movie looks tight and action packed. Should be a fun ride and it’s always great to see a new Western.

Sam Chisolm, (Denzel Washington) is an aging gunslinger who’s hired to rescue a small town from the deadly control of a ruthless industrialist (Peter Sarsgaard). He finds six outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns: Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). However, as they prepare the town and it’s folk  for the impending slaughter they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than just money.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Nic Pizzolatto and Richard Wenk, the film also stars Haley Bennett, Matt Bomer, Billy Slaughter and Vinnie Jones.

“The Magnificent Seven” rides into town on September 23, 2016

  1. Why does every god damn western trailer have a Bon Blow me audio over it….. News flash he sucked in the 80’s and surprise, surprise he still sucks. Now that that is off my chest I will proceed….. The original M7 has a special place in my heart it was one of the few films that my dad and I would watch together. So Fuqua, don’t Fuqua this up and then later tell the cinafiles out there how this wasn’t you’re original version and that some ad exact cut you’re vision to pieces. IE Tears of the Sun and King Arthur. Now recently he has been making some solid films with Denzel so we shall see.

    1. I agree but I’m hoping since he did such a great job with a loose adaption of M7 with Arthur that he can do it again with this. Plus it’s got one hell of a cast.Gonna have to watch again, don’t remember hearing JBJ.
