Awesome FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Live-Action Movie Teaser Trailer.

Fullmetal Alchemist is one of those anime’s that I never religiously watched, but when I did tune in I enjoyed every second of it. The show was so well done that even a casual watcher such as myself felt every emotional beat and instantly liked the main characters…and really, really enjoyed the action. Fullmetal Alchemist is one of those great anime’s that knew how to balance story, emotion, and action flawlessly.

I just hope the live-action version can live up to the pedigree the anime has. If this trailer is any indication, I think it might. Keep in mind that this movie is in post production, in Japan. At the moment there is no news of an American release, but one way or another it’ll get here.

Check out the trailer…

The story of Fullmetal Alchemist was one that always struck me right in the heart. Here’s a quick rundown…

After the death of their mother, children Edward and Alphonse Elric attempt to use dark fmaedwardelrick.pngalchemy to resurrect her. The attempt backfires and takes away Edward’s arm and leg while Alphonse loses his whole body. Now a little older, Edward is equipped with an armored arm and leg and Alphonse’s soul is residing in a large armored body. The brothers try to become State Alchemists in the search for more power and the fabled  Philosopher’s Stone.

What always got me about this show was the relationship between the brothers and theAlphonse4.png fact that younger brother Alphonse was in this large and powerful armor. His mind is still that of a child and is prone to mentally break down when dealing with all the shit these two brothers see. It always was heartbreaking to see this child in a large metal shell break down and sob. It made you stop and remember that both he and Edward were only children and faced with (sometimes) world ending odds. Anyway, I’m rambling…sorry.

Keep your eyes open for more news on this flick. It looks great so far.
