Universal Pictures has unwrapped the first full trailer for THE MUMMY. I don’t think it has the same mystique as the trailer, but I still have high hopes for this flick. But honestly I wouldn’t have been surprised if Lalo Schifrin’s Mission Impossible Theme started playing.
There definitely is a lot of supernatural surprises yet to come with THE MUMMY, but it might be overshadowed by Tom Cruise’s normal action hijinks. Still, the trailer gives me a big question that I’m still mulling over so I guess it hooked me….damn you Hollywood.

Here’s the synopsis…
Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.
Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
The movie was directed by Alex Kurtzman and also stars Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (The People V. O.J. Simpson), and Russell Crowe (Gladiator).
