Fiction’s Fearless Females -Princess Leia

To help celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s History Month (March), I along with some of WordPress’s best bloggers are teaming up to shine a spotlight on some of our favorite fearless females from movies, comics, television, and beyond.

This week’s entry is from the very insightful Jeff from The Imperial Talker.  Jeff has a tremendous Star Wars blog that looks at the bigger picture of Star Wars and how it reflects on our world with social views and commentary. He also has some great haiku poems and needs to bring that feature back, ASAP!

For his entry into “Fiction’s Fearless Females”, Jeff chose the first Princess I ever had a crush on, Princess Leia. As a kid I was smitten with Leia for her strength and no BS approach to the Empire. I think this was the first time I ever saw a girl stand up to the villain of a story and not really ever waver in her convictions, She wanted to bring them down and she stopped at nothing to try and complete this goal.

For his entry, Jeff has only chose to cover Leia’s story in The New Hope. With such a deep and fascinating history this is the best place to start while talking about Princess Leia. Hit the link below to read this great entry into the Fiction’s Fearless Females event.
